Radio Time: The Throne

Last Friday, I had a lovely intimate before-hours viewing of The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations’ Millennium General Assembly.  The Smithsonian American Art Museum generously let me and WAMU’s Rebecca Sheir view the amazing piece while she interviewed me about its history for this Friday’s Metro Connection show (theme: “Lost and Found”).  I hope everyone will check out the radio segment!  You can hear it live this Friday, September 16 at 1pm or Saturday, September 17 at 7am on DC’s local NPR station, WAMU 88.5.

To listen live, click HERE and hit the Play button on the top right corner of the screen.

You can listen to a recording of the piece HERE.

It’s worth checking out WAMU’s webpage about the story.  They have some really interesting links, including some songs inspired by The Throne from local band LeLoup.  Listen to it HERE.  (There’s also a symphony named after the piece!)
